Château de Chenonceau

Cutest place ever! I loved this castle! It made me want to be a part of Downton Abbey! (Sorry for the poor quality photos! I'll try to get them fixed soon!)

This is the most charming city! I would love
to live here! Plus, it has the coolest chateau!

Saint-Malo

This is the cutest little seaside town on
the northern coast of France! We stayed
inside the old city which is surrounded
by a huge stone wall! Definitely one of
my favorites!

Mont Saint Michel

Mont Saint Michel is this crazy old (like 14th century) abbey built on a rock on the border of Brittany and Normandy. It's got so much history and is still in use today! Our tour guide wasn't very great but it was still a neat place to see! Get Adobe Flash player

Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial

Hands down my favorite place in France. There was something special about being on American soil in a foreign country where so many brave soldiers gave their lives for our freedom.

Monet's Gardens

We visited where Claude Monet lived in Giverny. These gardens were the inspiration for his artwork and I can see why! They're so beautiful, they made ME want to paint them! Sorry there's a lot of photos of flowers, but they were all so pretty!! Get Adobe Flash player

Chartres

Our first week in Paris we took a trip to Chartres to see the cathedral there! It was my favorite cathedral I have visited so far! The stained glass windows were amazing and Malcolm Miller, our tour guide helped us "read" the stories in the glass! I would have never been able to piece together the stories the windows had to tell, so I am so grateful that he was there! Get Adobe Flash player

Château de Versailles

I am IN LOVE with Versailles! I could spend day after day here, but to be honest, I didn't think that in the beginning of the visit. The palace is beautiful. I mean, it really is stunning, but I felt rather ungrateful as I breezed through the crowded château. Honestly, it was just another castle. It was beautiful, but I don't think it was any more special than some of the other castles I've seen or any of the hundreds of other castles out there. What really sets Versailles apart is the gardens! They were stunning! And the experience was only made better by the fall season! Simply stunning! And once we got on bikes, I decided I was content living in the gardens for the rest of my life.

Château de Fonainebleau

This charming little castle is about 55 kilometers outside of Paris and is a real gem. The town is so quiet and quaint (so refreshing after Paris) and the castle is so much bigger than it looks! This château is one of France's largest and housed kings from Louis VII through Napoleon III. Not gonna lie, I have gotten incredibly lazy on my picture taking and also on my intake of information about the rooms and the palace itself, so I apologize. But feel free to take a look!
